Rev. Santes Beatty, Youth Pastor
Pastor Santes Beatty is a native of Raeford, NC and is the son of Bishop Larry Beatty, Sr. and the late Min. Sarah Beatty. He gave his life to the Lord at the tender age of 12 in Freedom Chapel AME Zion Church, but walked away from the Lord as a teenager and young adult. Although he let go of God, thankfully the Lord never let go of him. By the grace of God he rededicated his life to the Lord at the age of 22. He attended Guilford College in Greensboro where he received a B. S. in Sociology with concentrations in Psychology and Peace and Conflict Studies. Before graduating he accepted a position at his alma mater where he progressed from being Bonner Scholars Coordinator to the first Director of African American Affairs and the youngest administrator the college has ever known. His office later expanded where he also became the Director of Multicultural Services and later, the first coordinator of the Multicultural Leadership Scholars Program.
In 2001 he responded to his call into ministry, was licensed to preach and later in March of 2003 was ordained by the Rowan Baptist Association. Currently he serves full-time as the Youth Pastor at Genesis Baptist Church, under the leadership of his senior Pastor, Dr. Gregory T. Headen. A few years ago the Rowan Baptist Association appointed him as their official Youth Minister where he provides training, workshops and develops programs for almost 100 churches, their pastors, youth and youth workers. Beatty also serves on the Triad Youth Network, which works to bring together and build up youth ministry leaders across racial lines from all over the Triad.
Beatty is a well sought after speaker for youth revivals and conferences and is known for his creative way of sharing the Word of God through visual illustrations that are exciting, challenging and relevant to young people and their families.
He is the founder of a consulting business, Crossover Consulting, which serves many area colleges regarding issues of diversity and race relations and is in the process of co-authoring his first book, which will be a resource for pastors, parents and youth workers. Beatty also sits on the board of several community organizations that have a passion for youth, families and education.
In the fall, he plans to continue his education by pursuing a Masters of Divinity in Theology with a special focus on Youth Ministry and Leadership Development.
Beatty gives credit for his accomplishments to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and honors his wife Nicole, daughter Tesia, son Josiah, his family by blood, by faith, and the strong, broad shoulders he stands on of those who came before him.
