Dr. Gregory T. Headen, Pastor

Dr. Gregory T. Headen, Pastor, a native of Goldston, NC, has been in the ministry for over 30

years.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pembroke State University in Pembroke,

NC and a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke University Divinity School in Durham, NC.  In 1984,

Pastor Headen completed his Doctor of Ministry Degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological

Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.  During the same year, he was appointed Professor of Practical

Theology at Shaw University Divinity School in Raleigh, NC.  In 1989, he received an Honorary

Doctor of Divinity Degree from Shaw Divinity School.

Pastor Headen has been a pastoral counselor in training.  In the past, he has also served as

president of the NAACP, in Wilson, NC, former board member of Chatham County Board of

Education, and worked with Greensboro Housing Authority and Hospice.  Currently, Pastor

Headen is a member of the Greensboro Pulpit Forum.  In April of 1997, he received the Human

Services Award from the City of Greensboro Human Relations Commission.  This award

recognized Pastor Headen’s devotion to human rights in his city and community.  Pastor Headen

and his wife Doreatha, have two children, Tyecia and Greg, and two grandchildren.
