Welcome to Youth Ministry at Genesis

Our Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Genesis Baptist Church Youth Ministry is to expose the unsaved to Christ, to facilitate care for each other, to build love based relationships, to offer praise to God, and to grow in Christ.

Overview

Our Youth Ministry is designed to meet children, youth, and young adults where they are in their Christian walk and develop lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.  At Genesis we currently have a total of 125 active students participating in our Youth Ministry.  The ages include:

  • ·         Children:   birth to 11 years old
  • ·         Youth:  12 – 18 years old
  • ·         Young adults:   19 – 25 years old
  •

Bible Study

Bible Study is held each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.  Youth meet for Bible Study in the youth sanctuary on the third floor of the education building and the children (Kids of the Kingdom) meet on the first floor.  Bible Study for the young adults is held on Tuesday evenings.

Sunday Worship Service

Youth Church is held in the youth sanctuary and Children's Church is held on the first floor each 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sunday.  The youth and children have separate worship services in an effort to provide a worship experience on their level.  Youth Sunday is held each fourth Sunday in the main sanctuary and youth provide leadership during the worship service.  Adults and youth worship together on each first and fourth Sunday in the main sanctuary.

New Members

Discipleship classes are provided for youth and children once they express a desire to give their lives to Christ and join our church.  The four discipleship classes are as follows:

  Prayer

  Salvation

  Baptism

  Communion

The classes are held immediately following the early morning worship service on the second, third, fourth, and fifth Sundays.  Upon completing the classes, new members are scheduled to be baptized and/or receive the right hand of fellowship on the first Sunday of the month.

Volunteers

We have numerous adult leaders and volunteers who support and work with our Youth Pastor.  Kathy Durham and Lamar Deloatch serve as our Youth Ministry Coordinators.  They work closely with our Youth Pastor to review curriculum and plan activities. The adult leaders gather monthly for Village Council meetings, which are facilitated by our Youth Pastor.
