Thanks for the experience!
The African Children’s Choir melts the hearts of audiences with their charming smiles, beautiful voices and lively African songs and dance! The Choir is made up of some of the neediest and most vulnerable children in Africa. Many have lost one or both parents, but they have not given up hope and have come to show the beauty, dignity and potential of each African child!

State Tests To Be Scored on New Five-Level Scale

New levels will measure whether students are on grade level, on-track for college, career

Parents and students across Guilford County Schools - and across North Carolina - will see new achievement lev

For approximately 20 years, the state assessed students on Levels 1-4. Students were considered proficient if they scored a 3 or 4 on the tests. In October 2013, the state adopted new standards meant to measure whether students were on track to be successful in college and/or a career. The new standards led to a drop in test scores, with average proficiency scores in the low 40s.

Earlier this month, the State Board of Education els when they receive scores for End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) tests.

added an additional level in order to more closely measure student achievement. Students who reach achievement levels 3, 4 or 5 are considered on or above grade level. Students who reach levels 4 or 5 are also considered on-track for the state's standards of college- and career-readiness.

Students will be scored on the new 1-5 levels on upcoming EOGs and EOCs. Staff will recalculate scores for students who took EOCs in the fall. Those students will receive new reports with the updated information. The recalculation will not impact those students' grades.
