The Genesis Baptist Church “All White Affair” and The Genesis Baptist Church Community Leaders Awards

SAVE THE DATE! For what? Genesis Baptist Church's All White Affair in celebration of our 15th Anniversary.  On March 31, 2012 at the Marriott Downtown, where this church got it's start, we will celebrate in style with dinner, jazz music and a dance floor so Pastor Headen can dance with his "sweet wife", First Lady Dorethea Headen.  Of course the rest of us can dance too.

 

You must wear white so start planning that outfit now.  Tickets go on sale January 1, 2012.  See members of the All White Affair/Financial Growth Committees for more details (Pastor C, Michele Brown, Jill Berry, Robin Stevens, Dr. Brewington, Paulette Evans, Lee Staton, Latonya Bell, Evelyn Davis, Ellis Taliaferro, or Harriett Smalls).  We hope to see you there and don't forget to tell your family and friends.

Get Fit Genesis

Thank you to everyone who came out for the first night of Get Fit Genesis. Thank you to Brother Taylor Kyle for leading a discussion on Obesity. Please complete the Get Fit Genesis form in your bulletin on Sunday if you would like to be added to our mailings and for a chance to win great prizes, such as a free personal training session and a week of access to a fitness facility. You will also receive our calendar of events for this year. Please give your form to a Youth Ministry Leader or place it in the Youth Ministry mailbox. Thank you, Pastor C

Prayer Conference

The Youth Ministry would like to invite all youth, youth leaders, youth workers, parents, and anyone else that would like to participant in a Prayer Conference Call to join us on Monday, February 6th at 8pm.  The dial in number is 641-715-3200 and the access code is 502425 to join the call.

Pure on Pure Classes

The Youth Ministry will host a series of classes entitled “Pure On Purpose".  The first class will take place on February 11th from 12pm-1pm in the Youth Sanctuary. The purpose of these classes is to discuss and emphasize the importance of living a pure life before God.  See Pastor C to sign up or for more information.

GBC Scholarship

In an effort to better serve our youth who desire to further their education beyond high school, the GBC Scholarship Committee has been reestablished. As a part of the reestablished committee, there are a few proposed enhancements made to the scholarship process, application, and guidelines. These proposed enhancements are available for review and feedback until February 19th. You may obtain a copy for your review in the vestibule or from Pastor C.  Your feedback or suggestion maybe emailed to Pastor C, or given to any committee member in writing.

Fifth Friday Fire

Fifth Friday Fire will take place on March 30th at 7pm, the event will serve as a time of refreshing and rejuvenation. This year our guest speaker will be Pastor Ryan Brooks and we believe that on this night the fire of God would truly consume every, issue, situation, disease, or stronghold that hinders God’s people. As a part of the program, we are inviting guest choirs, individual singers, dancers, dance teams, step teams, poets, and mime teams to minister at this event.  There is no cost to attend.  However, we are asking everyone to bring a non-perishable food item to restock our food pantry at Genesis.  Thank you in advance for your generous donations and support.

College and Young Adult Bible Study

The College and Young Adults would like to invite those ages 18-30 years old to join us for Bible Study each 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday evenings at 7:45pm in the Youth Sanctuary. Contact Bro. All White Affair Tickets

Please contact me if you like to purchase a ticket to the Genesis Baptist Church All White Affair to be held on March 31st at 6:30pm at the Greensboro Downtown Marriott. The cost of tickets is $50 per person.

An Evening At The YMCA / FAMILY & YOUTH NIGHT – Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Hayes-Taylor YMCA, 1101 East Market Street, Greensboro.  NO COST.
