Family Feast will not be held in July.
Just wanted to send out another heartfelt thanks to each of you who played a part in making last Saturday's Youth One Day Session a huge success. We had over 300 youth, youth leaders, Pastors, parents and adults on hand over the course of the day and I believe our Genesis family served as awesome hosts. Our Moderator, Dr. J.R. Freeman and the officers met this past week and praised our church family and its leadership as we affirmed that young people continue to be an important part of the Rowan family. To God be the Glory!
Join me also in praying for our youth and chaperones who left this morning for New York. They will be away learning, growing and just having some fun together until late Sat. evening. We pray for their safe travels.
Lastly, just wanted to let everyone know that the two events listed below (in blue) will have transportation provided for those who can make it to the church by 5:45 p.m. We'll leave from the church to be a part of one session in GSO and leave their church to attend the other in Asheboro. We plan to be back by 10 p.m. Friday night. Please call ahead to reserve your space if you'd like to go (336) 215-6703 (no later than Friday, June 27th at NOON). Here are this week's announcements and ministry opportunities.
"FIRST 24" - During our last few bible studies we have challenged the youth of our church to spend the FIRST 24 minutes of each day communing with God. Although several of our youth have already started this, we officially began when school let out a few weeks ago. This time can be spent in devotion, praying, studying, singing, listening to a message or teaching or whatever it may be, but we want to build a culture of giving God our first 24 minutes each day this summer. Parents, I've asked them to wake up earlier if they need to because this should not interferere with what they normally do in the mornings, it should just come first. You'll see more info around the church encouraging others to join us.
NEW COVENANT COMMUNITY CELEBRATION - We have been invited to participate with New Covenant Christian Center in their next community celebration scheduled for Friday, June 27th from 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (1305 Ball St., GSO, NC 27405).

Call the RCC office at 633-1277 for more details.
DANCE MINISTRY - rehearsal will be this Sat., June 28 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Contact Sis. Dee, Lajoy or Nicole for details.
MISSIONARY SUNDAY - Just a reminder that this Sunday, June 29 during our 11 a.m. service we pay particular attention to our Missionaries as our own First Lady, Sis. Headen will be our speaker. Youth and Children's Church services have been cancelled so we can all worship and celebrate together.
PASTOR PREACHING AT OAK SPRINGS - This Sunday afternoon our Pastor will be ministering at Rev. Gladney's church, Oak Springs Baptist Church (9070 US Highway 158, Stokesdale, NC 27357)

BATHROOM RENOVATIONS - We are in the process of renovating our main restrooms on the lower floor (below the vestibule) and will not have access for at least one more week. “13 LETTERS” CD BY THE 116 CLIQUE – This CD was referenced during our youth service on Youth Sunday a few weeks ago as a great resource to accompany the teachings and small group discussions we’ll be having this summer. The CD has songs that serve as surveys for the Pauline epistles (books written by Paul) and although they are not exhaustive studies they are great tools for our youth to listen to and understand as we help them to better defend their faith. The 116 Clique is a collaborative group of gospel rappers started by Lecrae whose name comes from Romans 1:16 which states "For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—Jews first and also Gentiles (NLT)." These CD’s can be purchased or ordered at your local Christian bookstore or online
